The Garden is finally looking plentiful! This week we will donate 25 heads of lettuce and several pounds of greens to the White Stone Baptist Food Pantry. A big thanks to Mike and Carolyn for weeding and mulching the paths. And to the Earth Store for donating the mulch!

An Evening With....
An Evening With…
The Bay Center Community Garden is entering its
third year and continues to strive towards its mission of nurturing connection
to the earth and providing the community with access to local, fresh produce
through area food pantries.
The evening will include a teasing taste of the
summer harvest, sharing the future design of the Garden and viewing the movie
FRESH. If you have plants (divided bulbs
or spreading perennials) or seeds to share/swap please bring them.
Please bring a donation of $10 to the Bay Center

Spring has Sprung!
It's spring and things are starting to grow in the garden. Our strawberries have flowers, and the thornless blackberries are leafing out. We have planted kale, collards, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, potatoes, radishes, peas and lettuce. Everything is beginning to pop out of the ground. It is all very exciting! Please stop by any time to explore.
May 10th, the Bay Center for Spiritual Development will be hosting a evening talk about the Garden. Come learn about what we are doing this year, plans for a new garden design, and then watch the movie FRESH.
Happy Growing!

It's almost spring, and we're back!
We're deep into planning the Community Garden this year.
The first, second, and third graders at the Kilmarnock Montessori School are helping this year by growing our starts and coming to the garden to help plant, weed, and learn about gardening and community service.
The Northern Neck Food Bank has done an amazing job at securing produce to distribute to pantries in the Northern Neck. Our little bit is just a drop in the bucket, so this year we will be donating the produce we grow directly to the White Stone Baptist Food Pantry.
Please stop by and say hi! As always if you want or need produce, come weed for a bit and we'll send you home with some.

Digging in for the Winter
It has been a wonderful year at the Community Garden. The Garden has been put to bed for the winter. Look for a Thank You in the Rapphannock Record to all of the people who donated time and supplies to the garden. We are already planning for next year and have some fun ideas in store! We'll keep you posted.

The Garden doesn't grow only vegetables....
This week we found some baby bunnies! I know, it shouldn't be exciting because they'll probably eat all our fall seedlings...but they are quite cute. Here is a picture of one of them. It IS a donation garden isn't it?!?
MORE IMPORTANT NEWS!
This week we donated 160 pounds of produce to the Northern Neck Food Bank. This went to serve 75 families in Westmoreland. Please keep the community donations coming! We had over 50 pounds donated to our red bin.
